As a parent, there’s nothing more heartbreaking than watching your child miss out on simple joys because of something beyond their control. Our son Ryan (age 10) has struggled with severe allergies his whole life, and one of the hardest things was not being able to experience the warmth and comfort of something as simple as a chocolate chip cookie, fresh out of the oven.
We searched everywhere, desperate to find a solution—a cookie that was safe for him to enjoy, but also tasted like the real thing. After numerous searches with disappointing results, we decided to take matters into our own hands. We went to work experimenting in the kitchen, determined to create baked goods that Ryan would love. And after countless batches, we did it…sweet success!
The look on Ryan’s face when he bit into that warm, chewy cookie for the first time was pure joy. We realized that there must be other parents out there who, like us, felt the frustration of trying to give their kids the things they would enjoy without the worry of allergens lurking in every bite.
